Outstanding Hockey from the Castle Mead Team, Dean (captain) Lexie, Eleanor, Sophie, Marley, Tom, Ayrton, Cameron & Elliot, this week at the Wiltshire Schools qualifier for the County Games. 14 teams played in total. Castle Mead played extremely well and qualified for the semi finals second in their pool. They played Holt in the semi’s, Dean scored a magnificent goal which disappointingly was disallowed due to a collision with the opposition and the match ended with a 0-0 score at the final whistle, the game went into extra time and sudden death. Dean and Marley worked well together up front with the rest of the team getting the ball forward superbly, unfortunately we just could not manage to convert to a goal and Holt made a sudden break and scored. Our hockey skills were so much improved from last year , Holt were last years winners of the tournament and this year we put up a strong fight against them Castle Mead should feel very proud of themselves.
